Connection and Care

Approach
Sessions are designed to help clients better understand what they are experiencing, identify patterns that keep them feeling stuck, and practice tools that can support change outside of session.
A respectful first conversation focused on what brings you in now.
A pace that honors safety, trust, culture, and lived experience.
A plan that supports insight, skill-building, and realistic next steps.
When reaching out feels difficult
Many people begin therapy while feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or unsure where to start. A first conversation can simply focus on what has been difficult, what support is needed, and what might help life feel more manageable.
Theramore is built for people seeking thoughtful clinical care, clear communication, and practical support for meaningful change.

Meet the Owner
She/Her | Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical
Hello, my name is Alaina Gay, LCSW-C. I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical in Maryland and certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I provide individual and couples therapy to youth and adults ages 15-65, supporting concerns related to anxiety, stress, depression, family trauma, communication, emotional regulation, and life transitions.
I strive to offer a warm, respectful, and non-judgmental space where clients from all backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQIA community, feel safe, heard, and understood. My approach is client-centered, practical, and focused on meaningful change.
In addition to my clinical work, I bring more than 22 years of law enforcement experience. During my career, I served as a school resource officer, hostage negotiator, and police academy instructor. I was honored as the first recipient of the Gregory Cole Inspirational Instructor Award, presented by the Maryland Police and Training Commission. Outside of my work, I am a proud Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoy singing karaoke with family and friends.
